

A project engineer for complex, technically demanding projects, Susan excels at teamwork, coordination and communication. Her project design experience includes office buildings, correctional facilities, data centers, laboratories, and institutional facilities. She has extensive experience working with local, state, and federal government clients. A number of Susan’s projects are multi-building campuses, for which she has designed the central mechanical plant and distribution systems for heating and cooling. Her particular design strengths include high security mechanical systems for correctional institutions, large chilled water systems, fire protection systems, building automation systems, specialized environmental conditioning, and piped service systems for laboratories.

Susan is originally from Clear Lake, IA and currently lives near Des Moines with her husband Joel, their dog Dwight, and their cat Oatis. Susan loves to travel and counts England, Scotland, Italy, Switzerland, Norway, Newfoundland, and Nova Scotia as her favorites. In her free time she enjoys rowing, sculling, and tool time!
