As the end of their lease approached, ABC realized that their previous space was not adequately supportive of the collaborative, open culture of their team. The BBS team worked with ABC to develop a program and assessment criteria to aid ABC in selecting a new office location.
Once a location for the new office was identified, BBS worked with ABC to develop a design solution that created organic opportunities for meeting and collaboration, but also provided spaces nurturing of individual work. BBS worked alongside ABC, the building owner, and a general contractor to complete the design and construction of ABC’s new office on a very accelerated timeline. The plan of the office is organized around the large Confluence space, which acts as a central hub to connect all other spaces in the office. The Confluence includes space for file storage, layout tables, and a collaborative gathering area. The large conference room provides space for in-person meetings, videoconference meetings, and as a studio for ABC’s communications team to film training and promotional videos for their members. The variety of different meeting area sizes allow ABC’s team to collaborate while still observing social distancing recommendations. Adequately spaced workstations, touchless fixtures, and sanitizable surfaces also help to reduce spread of contagions in the office.
