Client Need
BBS assisted Jasper County with a building and programming study, determining that the building selected by the County should undergo full interior renovations, along with a small addition, to accommodate current space needs for a variety of county offices.
Approach
BBS worked closely with multiple departments including the Department of Public Health, Department of Corrections Services, Department of Human Services, Veterans Affairs adn the Department of Motor Vehicles to program and design individual office suites within the 16,000 SF footprint. The spaces were arranged to provide the most efficient use of space, while considering the security of staff and visitors, visual and acoustic privacy, and simplified way finding.
Solution
BBS worked to meet the County’s sustainability goals, by designing infrastructure for the building’s solar array and geothermal system. New LED light fixtures, continuous insulation and double pane windows will maximize energy efficiency throughout the lifespan of the building.
The building’s users are excited to move into the new building featuring amenities, such as break rooms and shared conference spaces, with fresh finishes and improved access to daylight. The users and the public are looking forward to the accesiblity and convinience to better serve Jasper County.
