Construction Completed: January 2016

Completed in January 2016, the 31,000 SF office renovation of Whitfield and Eddy Law features natural daylighting, sweeping views, & sleek finishes. Occupying the 19 & 20th floors of Des Moines’s Hub Tower, the office’s design highlights views of 801 Grand and the State Capital Building.

Stepping from the elevator, guests are greeted by the firm’s new logo, standing proudly against polished tile walls. The symmetry of the elevator lobby creates a strong visual axis, while a bold band of porcelain tile flooring leads guests toward the monumental stone reception desk. Seating areas to either side build upon the carefully balanced composition, while contrasting black carpet defines space and adds visual texture.

Serving as a backdrop for the reception desk, the office’s main conference room is prominently located along the building’s north façade. The utilization of storefront glazing allows sunlight to filter through the conference room and illuminate the internally located lobby, while translucent film delivers privacy where required. Dark wood ceiling tiles extend from the reception desk into the main conference room, adding a sophisticated accent to the room. A lavish stone top adorns the room’s conference table, reflecting light throughout the space.

Overlooking the Des Moines River and the State Capital Building, the office’s generous employee lounge invites relaxation. Its many vibrant seating areas offer opportunities for socialization and informal collaboration.
Attorney offices at the building’s perimeter feature glass doors with large sidelights which allow daylight to the Administrative open office areas.

Contemporary finishes paired with a neutral color pallet give the office a striking, yet timeless appearance, and set the stage for splashes of color in the artwork and furnishings. In full, the design boasts a refined simplicity and strength representative of the distinguished law firm residing within.
