At the annual celebration of the Iowa Architecture Foundation, Tim Bungert, AIA was announced as the organizations Volunteer of the Year! Claudia Cackler, Executive Director of IAF, aplauded Tim's commitment to the foundation and passion for engaging communities and citizens with design. Tim has volunteered with the IAF for nearly a decade. Leading countless groups of community members on Architectural Walking Tours, organizing and attending the Annual Eat.Drink.Architecture Fundraiser as well as holding numerous positions on the Board of Directors, including Chair, are just a few of the ways that Tim has served the foundation and advanced it's purpose.
Tim recalled his initial involvement, nearly ten years ago when Steve Stimmel (Retired Partner at BBS), encouraged Tim to attend walking tours to learn more about the community that he had recently relocated to. This quickly advanced to Tim leading tours himself! Tim attributes his dedication to the IAF to his desire to share his passion of design and architecture with the broader community and zoom out from individual projects he is working on as an Architect and Associate at BBS Architects | Engineers.
