Client Need:
IADA enlisted BBS to help design a renovation of their existing office intended to support modern work styles and space needs, improve the performance and comfort of their building, and provide new amenities to serve their members.
BBS Approach:
BBS and IADA identified early in the design process that gathering input from IADA’s entire staff of 12 people was critical to the success of the project. BBS worked closely with the IADA staff during programming and design to identify critical needs and develop creative design solutions.
The outcome of this collaborative process was a design that completely reorganized IADA’s office within their existing building. A new lobby in the center of the building serves as showroom for IADA’s Printing & Promotions division. The lobby also serves as a central hub connecting the office areas, collaboration spaces, and shared office functions. A new large conference space is an amenity for IADA and its members. IADA is now able to host large meetings, like board meetings dealer ad groups, that were previously forced off site due to space limitations. LED lighting with daylight controls, new mechanical systems, and added insulation at the exterior walls provide improved occupant comfort while simultaneously reducing the building’s operating costs.
Project Results:
- Renovation of the owner's existing office building
- Reorganization of staff to reflect current needs and promote collaboration
- Meeting spaces with integrated technology
- Access to daylight and views from nearly all office and meeting spaces
- Energy efficiency upgrades to the building envelope, mechanical system, and lighting
